Dolls and Pillows

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I sure did, and I'm so thankful for so many things. God is good.

While I was on "break", I worked on some new things. I finally tweaked the doll so she's much cuter, but one pain in the rear end to sew (so my sister the sewer tells me). I may have to make it a little different yet, but for now I think it's ok. I also worked on some personalized pillows for my aunt's grandchildren (my cousins kiddos). They were a lot of fun to make. I just uploaded my designs to http://www.spoonflower.com and got them printed on one yard of fabric. Then I had my sister sew them for me. The backing fabric was really soft white minky. So comfy and cute!
Sorry the pictures aren't any better....but you get the idea.
I made this doll for my niece. It has her name on it! I figure she didn't have a doll with her name so maybe it would be fun and different!?! Anyway, I did this the same way as the pillows...just uploaded my design I drew and created to spoonflower.com and my sister cut, sewed and stuffed her.

The backing fabric is also the white, soft minky. She looks like a happy little doll doesn't she?

Oh, how fun! So my sister is learning to sew so we can do some really fun stuff together. I still don't know how to sew....very annoying....but she is doing a great job learning. Here is her first real project for me. Pillows! I hope my friend doesn't see this before I give the top one to her for her baby boy, but here they are! Cute huh? I printed the fabric at Spoonflower in these designs. You can't really see but Mason's has his full name and birthday on it. The bottom one is for my daughter. I am so excited about these. I'll take a picture of the back as well to show you the softness of the backing fabric. I got it at Hobby Lobby and it's perfect for these baby pillows.
I've revised the doll panel and I'm going to have my sister sew it and see how it turns out. The other one didn't look so hot and needed adjustments :).

Fabric "Fresh Picked"

My daughter in a dress made with "Brown Flowers and Birds" fabric.

Coordinating fabric "Forest", and "Forest Owls".

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I posted, but I've had a lot going on....take a second and check out this really great company I'm working with at http://www.framechangers.com/

They are seriously awesome, and I'm really blessed to be working with them!
I've been doing lots of creating over here! I've added new art prints, lots of new fabric designs and I'm working on some more. I'm thinking about creating a panel for christmas stockings for my family. I am so excited to personalize them for my husband, son, daughter and I.

Side note - the doll pattern didn't work out so well. I actually withdrew myself from the spoonflower contest since I had gotten the fabric in the mail and it wasn't the right color :(. The skin color was really off, and after my sister sewed it up, we realized it needed adjustment. I'm thinking it will turn out better if I make it in pieces.....the head and body one piece, then the arms and legs seperate so they can be cut out and sewn on as well. Don't ya think?

I'll be posting more fun stuff soon!

New designs and some coordinating fabrics...

My newest fabric design....."By the Pond" (below) "Pink Picnik Stripes" to match the "Pink Picnik" fabric (below).

"Forest" to match the "Forest Friends" fabric (below).

"Forest Friends" fabric (below).

So, there they are! Now, I just need to make some fabric to match those little pond creatures :). I'm thinking stripes like the one below would be perfect. Maybe I should just change the colors in it to match that anyways....good thought. My next mission? Robot fabric! Oooooh, what fun!
