Vine Blossom Fabric

My new design with big 'ole flowers in orange, pink, brown and blues.

One Saturday afternoon I made this fabric design. I remember thinking - "When I get this printed, I want to make my daughter a dress out of this!". But, it is also really kind of designed for a nursing cover. I'm calling it "Vine Blossom". I have so many new designs I don't even know where to start with them all!
I'm having so much fun creating, and it's just the best outlet for this stay at home mom. Really. God is so good.

Thanks so much for voting for me in the last contest everyone! I didn't win, but came in third place so I'm happy about that! I did enter another contest there so if you could take a second and vote for me once again I'd love it! Thanks so much! The theme was bugs. Here is what I entered.

You can vote here. Mine is called "Bugs on Branches" by Emily. Thank you!

On a side note: I've had lots of questions recently about what I use for a tablet to write/draw with. Here is what mine is again (but I have an older version).

Anyone want to let me know what they'd like to see next? Either in fabric design, or art print design? I've got so many ideas swarming around in my head, and it's always fun to hear other ones too. I'd love to hear from you.

New designs and some coordinating fabrics...

My newest fabric design....."By the Pond" (below) "Pink Picnik Stripes" to match the "Pink Picnik" fabric (below).

"Pink Picnik" (below)

"Forest" to match the "Forest Friends" fabric (below).

"Forest Friends" fabric (below).

So, there they are! Now, I just need to make some fabric to match those little pond creatures :). I'm thinking stripes like the one below would be perfect. Maybe I should just change the colors in it to match that anyways....good thought. My next mission? Robot fabric! Oooooh, what fun!

Fabric dolls

I'm so excited about this new little doll! I've personalized it with my daughter's name. I just ordered the fabric with this on it today, and I can't wait to see how it turns out with a backing sewn on and stuffed. So fun! I've never made one of these before so I'm hoping it will turn out ok. I'm going to have my sister sew it together for me since she is going to learn how to sew soon. I'd really love to start making more, even boy ones, and personalize them for anyone who wants to order one. I'm thinking a superhero one for boys would be superb! Perfect for christmas!?

A wintery design, and a sale in my shop!

I made this before I made the "Pink Picnic" design. I am calling this one "Winter Flowers" and I think the darker colors make it perfect for winter. By the way, I have a sale in my etsy shop! If you buy two fat quarters they are just $7 each instead of $9. I'd love to see what you guys make with them if you get some! I'll post a picture tomorrow of a quilt made with the "Tweet Stack" fabric that Amy won a few weeks ago. It's so cute!

More new stuff!

Here is another fabric design I created today. I am calling it "Pink Picnic". Not sure why...it just makes me think of a spring picnic...and well, it's pink! I made it "non-directional" hoping others will find it easier to sew with ;). I STILL haven't gotten any ideas for the christmas one. I am just hoping that it will just pop into my mind like so many of my other ones have. I think I'll have another giveaway soon. Any ideas of what you'd like given away? Fabric, a print?
I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Wow, I haven't blogged in awhile! I've been super, super busy. Here is a little secret...I am creating a childrens bedding line for a really neat company. I'm super excited about it, but I'm also very busy. I can honestly say though, I love a good challenge!

I'm going to keep up with the artwork prints, and also add more fabric prints. Please don't forget to check in my shop for adorable fabric (which I lowered my prices on by the way). I'm going to do a special christmas fabric as a limited edition for this year. I haven't decided what to do just yet....any ideas of what direction I should go with it? I know I want it to be christmas themed, but not sure what exactly I'll do. Christmas trees? A little manger scene? Snowflakes?

The seasons are changing here, and I love it! We are having such beautiful weather and it's making me want to get to work on some fun fall projects. I'm thinking of a handmade christmas this year! This will be so fun!

I've been working on some more designs that I'll share with you all tomorrow. Have a great Friday everyone!

Fabric Giveaway!

New fabric "Red Birds"

This is my newest fabric pattern. I love pink and red together, can you tell? I did my daughter's room in pink and red...it's so pretty and clean.

I've decided to have a giveaway! Yipee! Anyone want in? I thought I'd give away a fat quarter of the fabric in my last post....which by the way I decided to call "tweet stack". I know, I'm extremely original...I thought long and hard about that name....anyway.....

I love giveaways! My favorite thing to do is buy or make things for other people....it just makes me happy! So, here are the details:

Post a comment here and link me to your blog (if you have one - if you don't, then just get on the phone and tell 500,000 of your closest friends about my shop) and I'll use random.com to find the winner and announce it Friday. Sound good? Good. Oh, and when you comment, I would LOVE to hear what you might want to do with this fabric if you win it.
***Just a note - remember, the giveaway is for a quarter yard of the "Tweet Stack" fabric posted below in the earlier post, not the "Red Birds" design. I'll probably have a giveaway for the red birds in the near future as well though. **********

Fabric!

Just in today ---

Helloooooooooooo fabric! The pictures here just do not do this justice. I'm so pleased with how this design turned out on this fabric. The colors are great, and I could not be happier! I received this in the mail this morning. I'm thinking a little accent pillow in a nursery, or a quilt, or maybe even a little bag or purse? The possibilites are endless. Oooooh, what about a flouncy little skirt? So much fun. I WISH I could sew. My next agenda - getting good pictures taken of my fabric. I should have a few more yards of some totally different designs coming next week, and I can't wait to see how they turn out and share them with you all. Does this get your creative juices flowing?

Monday, August 31, 2009

I'm waiting for these four yards of fabric to show up in my mailbox next week. I can't wait to see how they look! I'll be listing them in my etsy shop (the same shop I sell my wall art prints) so be sure to take a look. Let me know if you'd like to pre-order and I'll be sure to save you some.

Thanks so much to those of you who voted for my fabric on spoonflower. I'm in the lead right now, and I am so thankful. The voting ends on Wednesday so stop on over and vote if you haven't yet. It's in the lower left hand side of the http://www.spoonflower.com/ website where it has fabric of the week voting. Again, mine are the christmas owls.

Which of the fabrics above do you like best? I'm trying to decide which one to order more of right now. Thanks everyone!

I created another fabric design. I just uploaded it to spoonflower and it looks really cool in the whole yardage form. The repeat with it all together is even cooler. What do you think? I'm in the works for setting up another etsy shop to sell some fabric. I'm thinking the only way right now that I can do this is to sell fat quarters for $10 each. What do you guys think about this? I totally get not wanting to pay too much for things, especially if you are making something with it so then you can't re-sell it if your supplies are too much. I TOTALLY get that. I have the same issues with my wall art prints. Anyone who wants to give me some feedback, feel free! Thanks everyone!

I just uploaded this design to make into some fabric. What do you think? I'm lovin it, and wish I had crib bedding made out of it for my baby's room! I made a custom art print order for a friend of mine, and it is what inspired this. Hey - stay tuned because I'm going to have a giveaway peeps!

Oh, my! It's been a long time since I posted last...I've been really, really busy creating! Here is what I'm working on now. I just did the shark one tonight. I'm trying to do something simple for my kids' bathroom. I'm thinking I'll make one to match it that is a big boat in the water - not sure what else.....any susggestions?

The owls are a pattern for fabric print. I am entering it in a contest at spoonflower.com to see if I can win and get some free fabric! As soon as they start the voting process I'll link you to it. Will you vote for me? Pretty please!??! :)

Ok, I'm off to bed. We are getting ready for vacation, and will be gone for the rest of the week/weekend. Have a great week everyone!
