Worry

I've been so worried lately....you know, the kind of worry we as mom's have the hardest time with...
I hate watching the news. Too much sadness. Sometimes I watch it and think - what if we get in a car accident? What if my child gets diagnosed with cancer? What if, what if, what IF!!!
I've been really praying about this, and it's just so hard to know that life is so full of unknowns. I read a great quote in one of my Joyce Meyer books (love her!) and she said, "Do your best job to raise your children according to Godly principles and leave the rest to God. We need to pray for our children and then cast our care on God."
I actually wrote this down and posted it on my wall in the kitchen! I need to read this every 10 minutes. Can you relate?
I'm also reminded of this verse: For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
I know that we are not here on this earth for long, and I want to make the most of my moments here. I don't want to spend time worrying! Thank the Lord we have scripture to rely on in times like this. Amen!

I can totally relate! I don't have children yet, but I do catch myself worrying about plenty of other things. If I didn't have God's truth in my heart, I would be a basket case, I'm sure! :)

I know this feeling all too well!

I like the rationale of this scripture: "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" Matt. 6:27

...and I love the promise from Psalm 34:4-6 and the declaration in Psalm 91:1-2 and the wisdom in Proverbs 29-25.

Psalm 91 is very dear to me :)
