Here's my newest fabric design called "Forest Friends". Silly huh? Those little raccoons just make me laugh :). I still haven't decided what to do for a christmas one yet...still thinking on that one. I've been thinking of making some fabric panels to cut and sew to make stuffed animals, dolls, etc. I think if I did the deer, or a bird, or something it would be so fun! Don't ya think? I could embellish it with buttons, ribbon, anything! Anyone have any ideas of what would be a good pattern to start with? I'll have some to sell in my etsy shop, and I'm sure I'll be giving some away as well :). Let me know if you have any ideas.

Ooh, fun Christmas ideas. Snowmen (snowpeople) being naughty - snowball fights, losing their heads, blocking sidewalks. Or elves. Never saw an elf I didn't love.

I like this fabric because it's "non-directional". So many of your fabrics have to be sewn so there's a top and bottom, but this is more freeform. I like that :o)
I'm sure whatever you do for Christmas will be wonderful!

Thanks for your ideas Jay! Valerie - this is true! Do you think I should make more non-directional deigns? This is a great idea. I could alter some of the ones I already have to make them non-diretional!

Hi Emily, I sew alot of twirly girls skirts, and cut them so the fabric is in a perfect circle. They sew up so quickly that way. I can only use non-directional fabric for these, otherwise, I am cutting and piecing. I would love to try some skirts with your fabrics, as they are so whimsical. The price is still a little hefty though, because I need a minimum of 3/4 yd. It would be one thing if I were sewing them for my own daughter, but alas, I have boys! I sew them and sell them in a shop. So, yes, non-directional is key, at least for me. I just wish the fabric was a little more affordable...

Emily, one other thought; you might consider a companion fabric to work with a good selling design. For this Forest Friends fabric, I'd be more tempted to buy it if I could buy a coordinating stripe or polka dot pattern with the same colors. Just a thought :o)
